Another birthday, mercifully, done and gone. I was admittedly bummed for a few days, but feel back to whatever passes for normal for me these days. I just wish my dad would figure out that I don’t like holidays anymore. I’d told him I was just coming out to drop off MaryAnn from the airport, maybe have some cake and head out, but he had this big lunch spread already. When I told him I’d already eaten, he looked like I’d just shot his dog.
There were just a few of us at Trivia Night (which, sadly, we lost – a rarity – due to one team deciding to haul out the smartphones. For shame, for shame!). Oddly enough, I ran into the guy who hired me at Sony many years ago, and we shared a few stories of work and how Marc Blank is still a tremendous asshat.
So it was a very low-key day, which is just the way I like it. Now, back to freelance work, zapping out resumes and continuing to dredge for more work. I have a strange feeling something’s going to pop up soon. We’ll see if I’m right, or that’s just an aneurysm.
