Back from a brief camping sojourn with Bill & Rosemary. Much better weather this year – warm and sunny beats rainy and miserable any time. Managing to only get a little sunburned and mosquito-riddled as well, and actually caught some fish this time around. First time I’ve caught a fish since…when? Camping in middle school? Quite possibly. I’ve never been much of a fisherman, but even when the fish aren’t biting, spending a few hours on the water watching osprey and bald eagles isn’t a bad diversion. But the fish were biting, and we hauled in several foot-long rainbow trout. Then let ‘em go. We’re catch-and-release folk.
Tonight, I’m off to watch some of the Perseid meteor shower (which I totally forgot about last night, being out in the boonies…d’oh). Just gotta drive a few miles out of this overly-light-polluted burg and enjoy the show.
